The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced the launch of its Industry Fellowship Programme, designed to strengthen ties between educational institutions and the corporate sector. The initiative provides a structured platform for faculty members to gain hands-on industrial experience while maintaining their academic positions.

Applications for the fellowship are now open and will be accepted until June 25, 2026. Selected fellows will begin their industry engagement from July 20, 2026. The programme represents a significant step towards addressing the long-standing gap between theoretical education and practical industry requirements that Indian students often face upon graduation.

For Bihar's engineering and technical colleges, this initiative offers valuable opportunities. Faculty members from institutions across the state can apply to work with leading companies, bringing back contemporary industry practices and real-world problem-solving approaches to their classrooms. This exposure is expected to particularly benefit students in tier-2 and tier-3 cities who often lack direct access to industry mentorship.

The fellowship programme aligns with the National Education Policy's emphasis on skill development and employability. By enabling educators to understand current industry demands, the initiative aims to make graduates more job-ready and competitive in both national and international markets.
